SHADOW OF THE ALMIGHTY

What Is It?

OK, here is one more from the "What Is It" category. These were very popular for a short period of time during my teen years. Can you guess what they are?

Again - no idea.

It either looks like one of those toys that you wear around one ankle and twist the ball around, kinda jumping rope with the other leg...

Or a decoration on a hair rubber band.

Yeah, I'm sure those aren't right. But that's my best guess!

well I would say that they look like some sort of oriental sex toy but I wouldn't want to say that.

They are "Clakers". You held them by the little ring and the two objects were each at the end of the string. When you moved your hand up and down real fast they would swing out above and below your hand and make contact (if you were good). This made a clacking noise. They were finally outlawed because they could break, and there were many injuries due to the balls hiting hands and wrists and breaking bones.

The skill was much like paddle ball. The idea was to see who could clack the longest.
